Michigan Basketball. Associate head coach Phil Martelli of the Wolverines men's basketball program

is alongside. There has been nothing made official about any punishment after what happened yesterday at

Wisconsin. It's being reported that head coach Juan Howard will be suspended for the rest of the

regular season, which is five games, but that has not been confirmed by the school. So,

coach, first off, thank you for joining us. We are always thankful for your time and for your

candor. It's not an easy situation.

Just curious, the mood of the team and the program since what happened yesterday to right now.

Well, it's been a very, very, very, very long day. But I am happy to say that we practiced and we did film study and we we did it together

and that's the biggest deal like these young guys can't be alone they just can't be alone. They just can't be adrift. And I just left Sadi and Howard Isley and I said,

you know what, fellas? Tomorrow's Tuesday. And that's basically where it is. I thought the

reaction in the building was appropriate, somber, but certainly appropriate,

and to now not rally the troops.

There's a season ahead of us.

There's five challenging games.

And the only way we can get to Wednesday is to have a very productive Monday, which we did,

and then tomorrow to be better than we were today.

It's not easy. It's not easy. But every once in a while you have to think and say, not why did this happen to me, but why did this happen for me?
