Summary

Children throw tantrums and we call them “naughty.” We say, “they’ll grow out of it,” and move on. But as adults, we don’t stop reacting — it just looks a little different. We may say or do something we regret. So the next time someone around you is reacting in a way that’s surprising, take a step back and create some space. Want more Andy? Try Headspace today. Hi, my name is Andy and welcome to Radio Headspace. So today I want to tell you, I want to share

0:49.8

with you something that happened at home the other day. If you have young children, you

1:27.1

people do things and it really hurts us. And it's difficult not to react. The other day

1:34.0

we got chatting about this at home and the reason is we were watching our two young children

1:39.8

1:45.9

And the older one, the five year old, was basically speeding his brother up. He was being

1:50.9

his brother up. He picked up a plastic toy truck and was sort of hurling it at his younger

1:55.6

brother. And we thought at that stage, we should probably step in as responsible parents

1:59.8

and have a chat about what was going on. Since then, by the way, my wife has shared with
