You are about to listen to a BBC podcast and I like to tell you a bit about what goes into making one.

I'm Siddhartha Cesset, an assistant commissioner of Podcasts for BBC Sounds.

I pull a lot of levers to support a diverse range of

podcasts on all sorts of subjects, relationships, identity, comedy, even one

that mixes poetry, music and inner city life. So one day I'll be helping host develop their ideas, the next

fact checking, a feature and the next looking at how a podcast connects with its

audience and maybe that's you. So if you like this

Hello and welcome to Wednesday's Radio One All Day Breakfast

Podcast.

We have decamped into a different studio because the Zutons are currently in the live lounge.

And if you listen carefully, you might be able to hear them in here because we've just worked

out that even though this studio is like

two corridors away the air vent is connected to the air vent in the live lounge.

So actually we could pump smoke through that vent and get it into the Zutons

you can actually hear it. These are supposed to be soundproofed but you can hear

the music through the vents. It also means you could feature in the background, couldn't you?

You could be the backing vocals.
