| 1:39.0 | It's from the word radics that we get the word radish. And what is a radish? It is a big root. |
| 1:45.0 | And when we talk about eradicating something, that means to eliminate it, you pull it up by its roots. |
| 1:51.0 | You eradicate it. When we talk about radical surgery, you cut it out at the root. |
| 1:56.0 | You cut out the disease. You don't put a bandit over it. You cut it out at the source. |
| 2:01.0 | So there's no root left. In botany, the word radical means the leaves closest to the root |
| 2:08.0 | or the radical leaves. In math, the radical in math is always the root of the equation. |
