Radhanath Swami is the American monk, author, spiritual teacher and activist.

At age 31 he took his monastic vows, and went on to establish missionary hospitals, eco-friendly farms, and a number of emergency relief programmes, one of which feeds over 250 thousand people per day.

Radhanath has been sought out by some of the most influential leaders on the planet including Mother Theresa, Barack Obama, and the Dalai Lama.

And his last book, the New York Times best-seller “A Journey Within”, shows us how to solve dilemmas, with the simplest of resources, and uncover miracles in everyday life.

0:10.0	Well, I was born in 1950, so my teenage years were the 1960s, and during those times it was very
0:19.5	troublesome. So much prejudice. So I joined the civil rights movement and counterculture and I was
0:28.7	really trying to find myself. But then there was another problem. I saw so much apparent hypocrisy and
0:37.4	contradiction in religion. Hate, sectarianism, prejudice in the name of a loving God.
0:48.0	And I either had to just reject the idea of spirituality and religion, or there had to be something beautiful that was at the
0:56.9	heart of all true spiritual paths. And gradually I came to a conclusion that if I don't change myself, I can't really substantially be an instrument of change in the world around me.
1:11.0	But it's not about being a monk or being in business or entertainment or
1:17.2	any of these things, it's about how we love and how we see that whatever we've been given is to be utilized as an instrument of that love. You're going to. You're going to.
