Well, let me push back on one aspect of your thought there about the unreasonableness

of my proposal or the lack of pragmatism surrounding it.

Because for me, the compromise embedded in it is that I would just not worry about contribution

limits.

So if you are allowed for whatever office you're running for to spend $10 million and

you can get all that from one person, hooray for you.

And then you can be done and you can actually go to work and do your job every day.

And so I think there are some incentives for lawmakers to do something like this.

Now, can it be done before 2020?

No.

I don't know that much of anything could get done before 2020 that changes the shape

of that race.

And I don't know that it should because people are already in it.

You know, we're already so far down the road.

But I would like to see movement around a rethinking of all of this, starting with an

amendment to the Constitution that allows us to rethink all of it.
