Welcome to the Racing Roundup on the Final Furland podcast. We got a lot of big stories to talk to you about some key races over the weekend as well with a view to the future. Hopefully you were listening to our weekend preview. If you did, maybe you followed us in on chagran. Somebody on the podcast tipped him. I can't quite remember who because Miss Jamie Wren will tell you self-praise. There's no praise. But 20 to 1 when I put him up on the final photo podcast on Thursday, hopefully you followed us in. I wasn't bullish, but hey, we'll say afterwards we absolutely were. Another winning nap from Andy Newton. He keeps on banging in the winners. Sadad was a confident nap from him. George Gorman, yet again with a double figure-priced winner, Yannifer for fans of The Witcher, getting the job done at Chester. A couple of big priced and interesting horses from Peter Michael as well. Mission Central, we all knew was going to absolutely bolt up. Don't complicate your mind. Just get stuck in. Lots of horses hitting the back of the onion bag over the weekend. If you follow us in, hit a like, hit subscribe to the Final Fronton podcast on your favorite podcast app. And of course, on YouTube as well, your support of the show means a lot to us. Adam Mills from Total Performance Data, the voice of betting in Ireland, Jamie Wren, here to break down all the key races and the key talking |
| 1:12.0 | points. We're going to begin, though, with the big news. Ryan Moore out for the rest of the season after Scans revealed a fractured femur. Remarkably, Aidan O'Brien tells us, he's been riding through the pain barrier for two months with that broken femur, including when he had group one at York, a mini hawk. O'Brien called him concrete. |
| 1:26.3 | None of us are going to disagree with that. |
| 1:27.8 | It's a massive blow. |
| 1:28.7 | Ryan Moore is going to miss the Irish Champions Festival, |
| 1:30.5 | the Ark, the St. Ledger, the... Group 1 at York, a Mini Hawk. O'Brien called him concrete. None of us are going to disagree with that. |
| 1:27.7 | It's a massive blow. |
| 1:28.7 | Rai Moore is going to miss the Irish Champions Festival, |
| 1:30.5 | the Ark, the St. Ledger, the Breeders' Cup, |
| 1:32.2 | all at a time when Coolmore Stallion prospects like Delacquale, Lamborne, Henri Matisse, Los Angeles. Never mind all the talented juveniles that are coming through, their future value could be impacted by missing out on a key writer like him. |
| 1:42.9 | So step forward, one of the world's best, Christoph Sumion. |
| 1:46.1 | Adam Mills, he's obviously had multiple wins for Aden O'Brien. In the last year alone, he's won Group Ones for Aden on Diego Velazquez, Camille Pizarrio and Grateful. All three of those horses, by the way, were second strings on the day. What kind of a blow is it to lose Ryan Moore, particularly at this time of the year when stallion reputations are on the line? It's just the fine margins, and that's where it's going to hurt the most. I think, as Wayne Laudan has shown this year, the other riders batty all use. They've got such good horses that they can still win group ones. But where Ryan Moore makes the difference is those little split- second decisions that not every rider thinks of. |
| 2:17.8 | If you think about Delacquire winning the eclipse, I'm not sure that happens if it's not |
| 2:22.5 | Ryan Moore, because Ryan Moore is the one who's constantly thinking, right, what can I do? |
| 2:26.6 | Where do I go? |
| 2:27.3 | When do I kick? |
| 2:28.7 | And his timing is spot on, assuming on, is the best possible available replacement. |
| 2:35.2 | But Ryan Moore is the world's best jockey. So there will be a race at some point in the next three months when I'm sure |
| 2:40.3 | it'll cross everybody's mind and they'll go, that horse would have won with Ryan Moore on board. |
| 2:45.1 | But if you're going to get a replacement, you may as well get Christoph Sumon, absolutely cool |
| 2:49.5 | as ice. He's been there, done it. He's won so many great ones. There's no better option available to take this job on, but it's still not Ryan Moore. Yeah, I completely agree with that. Christopher Suman is absolute mustard. I'm a huge fan of his, Jamie. I'm kind of excited to see him in action, but I'm also just devastated that we're going to miss out on Rhynemo for the rest of the season. |
| 3:08.2 | The guy is absolutely world class. It's like Liverpool missing out on Mosella. It's not going to help. It's great that you can get somebody else to rely on, but you're missing arguably the best jockey in the world. And how do you feel Christoph Sumeon is going to sub in? |
