Two of my favourite things.

James Aicaster here, comedian and music fan, and in 2017 I had a breakdown.

I dealt with that breakdown by buying as much

music in 2016 as I possibly could as a result I now own over 600 albums that came out in 2016

and I'm convinced it's the greatest year for music of all time but it's not enough me being

convinced I also want to convince each and every single one of you,

plus a guest every single week. I'm going to send them an album in advance. They're going to come on the podcast. We're going to talk about that album. This week, my guest is Rachel Paris. And the

album we're talking about is Hands in Our Names by Karima Walker.

Karima Warker. Walker. Kareemima Walker is a experimental folk singer from Tucson, Arizona.

She recorded this album out in the desert of New Mexico, the New Mexico desert, all on her

own. And you can kind of hear that as well. It's a lot of ambient sound

throughout this album. It's folk songs, sure.

Very sparse, very delicate folk songs,

but stitched together with these meandering, winding,

ambience, like, passages.

You won't go

where you never build. like passages.

It's not like anything else that I like, to be honest.

I haven't found many other things that really feel like this and that evoke these kind of emotions.
