So Angie, what happened at the Cape Town Marathon?

They canceled it.

Yeah, that's right.

As we know, it's set to become a

World Marathon major next year, and it was scheduled for the weekend of October 18th. However,

organizers canceled the marathon the morning of the event. Runners World reported, quote,

according to race organizers, the decision to cancel the event, which sold out with 24,000 entries in July,

was made after overnight high winds damaged structures at the start in Greenpoint.
