So I invited Gerard Robinson to join me again for another candid conversation.

He is a long time friend and someone I admire.

I'm pleased to welcome back my guests, Gerard Robinson, the vice president for education

at the Advanced Studies and Culture Foundation in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He previously served as Commissioner of Education for the State of Florida and as Secretary

of Education for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Gerard, I really want to thank you for sharing with us something I know you've thought a

great deal about and spent your lifetime working on.

And that is how do we find solutions to the question of race in America?

And I know that you're a naturally positive person.

And so I'd be very curious looking at the current polarization and the current difficulties

and the violence on the street and the very, very large demonstrations.

Whereas you look forward for the next 10 or 15 years, how do you see America being true

to itself and working its way through all this?
