Welcome to the meaningful people podcast. The podcast where we talk to people who are meaningful. Yeah, that sounds good.

1:07.0

We are joined here by our David Foreman. It's such a pleasure to have you. I want to start by saying that just a disclaimer. I'm a huge fan of Olive Beta. And it's kind of like who isn't a little trippy to see you in person. Cause usually you're a cartoon. Let's when I'm watching you.

1:23.0

That was who I'm familiar, you know, got to get the Olive Beta app. Actually born as a cartoon that the human part was just a transformation. That's the evolution of it. I'm sure we'll get a lot more, you know, into Olive Beta.

1:36.0

But just wanted to start off saying that like what you're doing is incredible. Thank you. Yeah, I would say I am most overwhelmed. I think with having you as a guest.

1:47.0

Because we need to take a breather. I really, and we've been speaking for maybe almost a year at this point back and forth. But there's really so much that we really want to get to with you about everything you're doing and your past.

2:01.0

So hopefully we'll be able to get to that. But take us from the start of like, you know, where you're from. Sure. I'll just say parenthetically that I'm tempted to turn the tables on you guys and interview you.

2:14.0

And really got to know Olive Beta and how it and how it it changed in your perception. Cause you know, just say this really quickly as a tease and we can come back to this later. But one of the things about Olive Beta is I always think of Steve Jobs when I think of the I call the Steve Jobs problem when Steve Jobs launched the iPad.

2:35.0

He said, I didn't do any market research. I didn't try to figure out what the what what people wanted. I had a concept for what was out there. But I couldn't explain it to anybody because the product didn't exist. And I couldn't ask people, would you want this if it exists.

2:50.0

So there was no way to market it other than to say you need to experience this. And once you experienced it, you'll you'll kind of understand. And I kind of felt that with Olive Beta was something like that. What we were trying to do was was was different. And there was no way that you could anything you could say in marketing wouldn't sound genuine about it.

3:15.0

And so what happens is when people first kind of discover it. It just looks like a cartoon. It sort of things seems like it's for kids. It's you're not quite sure what it is. And then it sort of draws you in. So one of the things I'm always curious about when people first discover it is what you know what it was like the first time you saw it. And you know how it is that you began to see it. You know, differently.

3:35.0

I could answer that. Okay. So first of all, I don't know what year did Olive Beta start?

3:40.0

Yeah. I'm not even sure. I think it was about 2012ish. Okay. So when it started, it was well before like I think it was still at the point where it was known in the world like internet does not equal Torah. Like it's the opposite. And like you're out there.

3:53.0

I don't even know if you she world existed then. And so yeah. So at first, I think my brother at my old brother, Abby sent me a clip. And I'm like, oh, this is like cool. Like honestly, I didn't understand really what it was.

4:04.0

Oh, it's like cute cartoons on the partial. Like that's what I thought. And then as I washington, I think as I got older and just said, I'm like, whoa, this is like.

4:13.0

I mean, the cartoons are nice. And I think that's what's strong me drew me in. But I'm like, there's a lot deeper content and Tyra going on over here.

4:22.0

You're a big Marvel fan, right? So that makes sense to the cartoons like for you.

4:25.0

Yeah. No, for sure. No, really. That's that's what got me. I got engaged through it.

4:29.0

I think, I think for me was I think you spoke at my Shiva that you saw her blender. I think it's why you're there. Yeah.
