It was the 2nd of September 2003, a quiet Tuesday morning in the small town of Bellevue, Idaho,

and Jerry and Marilyn Fisher, neighbours of the Johnson family, heard a frantic knocking at their door.

When they opened it, they found 16-year-old Sarah Johnson standing on her porch, and she was clearly in a state.

She was shaking uncontrollably and said, quote,

My parents, they've been shot, they're dead. Without another word, Sarah turned and sprinted

towards the Johnson home, leaving the Fischer's standing in shock. Jerry darted out the house as quickly

as he could following Sarah to the house, while Marilyn called 911.

Police officers arrived to assess the scene. As they stepped inside, they noticed just how quiet it was. They continued forward to the master bedroom, where they came face to face

with the horrifying reality. Diane and Alan Johnson, Sarah's parents, were lifeless, one in the bed and one just across the

hall.
