aligned with the truth of God today. We are going to wrap up our reality series today

with a final topic that I think is kind of undergirding as a foundation under all these

topics we talked about. We're going to get to that in just a moment. But before we get

the information on that. Alright, today, I want to tell you why we, as believers in Jesus

Christ, should live in fear. That sounds very counterintuitive, doesn't it? We typically

don't want to live in a place of fear. Fear is very unsettling. It's a very scary thing,

obviously, because it's fear. But in 1 Peter 1, verses 17 and 18, we are taught by the

inspired apostle Peter that we are to live in a state of fear. That's not in fear of

circumstances or death or disease. It's a fear of God. In the sense that we respect

him, we bow before his commands, we revere and honor him, knowing who he is in his

vastness compared to us. And our right and proper place is one of humility before him.

Let's read it in 1 Peter 1, verses 17 through 18. Peter says, and if you call on him as

father, who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with

...
