| 0:00.0 | Hello, my friends. Welcome back to the morning mindset. It's time for you and for me to |
| 0:07.6 | get our minds aligned with the truth of God. And today's truth is that Jesus is the |
| 0:14.4 | sustainer. And we're going to get into what that means all the way down to a subatomic |
| 0:19.4 | level in just a moment. But before we get there, I want to encourage you to pause this |
| 0:25.0 | episode right now and share it with someone you know could use the kind of encouragement |
| 0:30.5 | that you receive from the morning mindset. You should be able to do that through a text |
| 0:34.6 | message, through an email, through social media even. Share the morning mindset and help |
| 0:39.4 | us expand the reach of this global audience. All right, today we're talking about Jesus |
| 0:44.9 | is the sustainer. I want to pull out two scripture passages here for us to consider and |
| 0:50.7 | then talk about what that really means in everyday life. Colossians chapter 1 verse 17 says, |
| 0:57.8 | speaking of Jesus, and he is before all things and in him, all things hold together. So |
| 1:07.2 | in him, all things hold together. Think of Jesus like glue. Okay, that's what Paul is describing |
| 1:11.9 | here. Now the writer of Hebrews says something similar in Hebrews 1 verse 3. He says, he |
| 1:17.8 | is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature. And he upholds |
| 1:24.9 | the universe by the word of his power. Okay, now this one is not so much looking at Jesus like the |
| 1:32.9 | glue that holds things together, but just looking at him more as the one who lifts everything |
| 1:38.2 | up and holds everything in place. I picture in this is probably a very small image compared |
| 1:45.2 | to the reality, but I picture a massive hand holding up the universe holding up every galaxy. |
| 1:50.6 | That's what that passage makes me think about. Now as I have been pondering this truth that Jesus |
| 1:58.4 | is the sustainer, it made me think about some of my old high school biology classes. Do you remember |
| 2:05.8 | your high school biology? I remember studying about these little things called atoms once in high |
| 2:13.4 | school science class. Maybe it wasn't biology, but I hope I don't lose any of you here, but I want |
