I got a text from a married couple this morning that said, was Jesus influenced by the Eastern

0:04.5

religions of his time? Was Jesus influenced by the Eastern religions of his time? And I replied

0:10.7

with a little voice message and thought I maybe put this on YouTube. You know, I saw someone,

0:14.4

someone put up on YouTube or somewhere on the internet, the average YouTube time, attention span is like 90 seconds.

0:23.7

So I'm going to start doing some of these short ones that aren't super long, super deep.

0:27.7

Most of you guys probably know the answers to these things.

0:30.2

But I'm sometimes surprised at, well, we've all been brainwashed by modernism a little bit.

1:04.9

probably in the 70s to kind of make it that Jesus had to go learn from the gurus of his time.

1:10.4

And really, there's an

1:11.3

agenda in that. It's to bring Christ down to the same level as teacher with people like Buddha,

1:17.6

who is admittedly born before Jesus, at least Christ as man. Of course, a second person in Trinity

1:22.9

existed long before Buddha. But these Eastern religions precede Christianity, of course, on any

1:29.9

timeline. And so scripture scholars, I think around the 1970s, wanted to make it that Jesus

1:36.1

was just another good teacher. So to insist that Jesus went to learn from the gurus of India is a way

1:41.3

to deny Christ's divinity. But the one thing you need to remember is just there's no historical evidence he did that.
