Hello and welcome to the Wednesday August 1st 2018 edition of Tesla Daily on

official Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Maurer. Of course today is

Earnings Day so I have some quick thoughts on Q2 as well as some news on Tesla's referral program,

the Gigafactory in China, and some trend analysis. Tesla stock on Tuesday finished up 2.75% to $298.14,

this compared to the NASDAQ up 0.55%.

And hopefully by now everyone has forgotten that I expected the stock to be around $325.

heading into earnings, obviously that didn't pan out.

But I do like to keep myself accountable.

First up today, Tesla has updated their referral program with the expiration of the previous round

happening yesterday. The current round goes through September 16th.

Overall the program is staying very similar to the previous round with a couple of

big exceptions but as a reminder use of the referral code grants free unlimited

supercharging for purchases on a model S and model X.

The big change here is that now Tesla has added the performance model 3 to the referral program.

For people that have already confirmed orders for Performance

Model 3 is this does apply retroactively.

So even if you ordered a Performance Model 3 and didn't use a referral code,

you still are now going to receive free unlimited supercharging,

and then going forward, any orders for a performance model 3 that use a referral code will

also receive that same benefit.

That will only apply until the end of this round of the referral program,

which again runs through September 16th.
