Of course I'm talking about Michael Steele, former chairman of the RNC, former Maryland Lieutenant Governor, currently an MSNBC analyst and the host of the Michael Steele Podcast, Michael, welcome back, great to have you here at the house.

Hey, it's good to be back in the neighborhood, how's it going?

Well, you know, it's going pretty well. I hope the same goes for you.

Yeah, I don't okay, behave it myself.

Well, I was looking at the last time you were on the show and it was really right before all hell broke loose in Afghanistan.

So, so we haven't talked about that. So we have to begin by talking about that and what I want to do is divide this into two parts.

Something that I feel is not being done enough.

Part one, the decision to withdraw. Part two, the execution of the withdrawal.

So let's start with part one. Was it a good idea or in your mind and not such a good idea to get out of the country?

Well, you may recall since you you apparently wrote about me quite a bit when I was chairman of the RNC.

Yeah, I did all of it bad.

I know. Well, yeah, you're not allowed to let's let's tell the listeners.

Now, you know, Michael and I subsequent to that time, as you may know, had a radio show together for many years and we became very good friends.

He is not allowed to read anything I wrote about him when he was the chairman of the RNC.

Go ahead and I've kept my end of that bargain, which is why I still appear on your show.
