If you're going to experience music, it was about location.

You had to go somewhere where there was a live performance of music.

We're in a world now where music has been able to become something we consume in isolation.

I can be riding down the road in the car with you, and I can listen to my genre of music.

You can listen to yours.

You can listen to yours.

And everything is tailored to, again, to our digital experience.

But he said music was always meant to be communal before it was recorded to where you could enjoy it in isolation and individuality.

And the church was the place that most frequently provided that experience.

Not a concert hall, not a symphony, but the church week in and week out provided that

location where someone could go and engage.

They never went there to be entertained because it was never about just listening.

It was about blending your voice

with everybody around you.
