At some point in my life, if God tarries, we see pastors having to do this repeatedly,

where they've given of their entire life.

And now they're stepping away from a pulpit.

And they're having to say, now follow him.

Man, it's got to be tough.

That is tough.

And that transition is fraught with the potential for offense.

Oh, my.

It's fraught with it.

You've got all of these aspects of being a disciple and being loyal.

Man, it says something about Andrew.

Andrew was loyal enough, loyal enough to John that he was willing to follow someone else because John said follow Jesus. I will be obedient to you. I am faithful enough to you

that I'll follow somebody else because you said for me. Churches have to go through that.

Leadership has to happen. Transition. Transition is, I know I've already used this word but it's

fought with the with a minefield of potential offense and you have to have a

John that understands his ministry and understands the arrival of the next one and can pick up,

it's time for me to decrease in him to increase.

This is not about superiority, although we know Jesus, obviously.

But in the strictest sense of the word as it relates to leadership.

It's not about superiority.

It's about succession.

That's right.
