Summary

Stay up to date with all the cases on the Law Nerd App at https://lawnerdapp.com! Available now on iOS and Android. The Petito v. Laundrie civil case is set for a spring 2024 trial, but there is a lot of litigation to go before then. In recent litigation, we learned that Brian Laundrie called his parents ‘frantic,’ saying Gabby was ‘gone’ and that he needed a lawyer. With the help of Attorney Steven Bertilino, they hired a criminal defense attorney in Wyoming. They are also seeking to compel further deposition of Bertilino, hoping the Judge will order him to disclose the contents of conversations with Brian Laundrie, which Bertilion asserts are protected by attorney-client privilege.  In the Emily Show Podcast, I discuss the Young Thug trial wildness and the RICO charges against him. This trial has already been wild and with over six months of trial expected, I am sure there will be more ahead. 0:31.6

of the pop culture and entertainment cases I'm currently

0:41.1

Before we get all the way into today's episode I just want to remind you to treat yourself to the gift of the Laundered app.

0:46.0

It's completely free. It's in your app store, and it will keep you in the loop with everything I am covering and sometimes the holidays pop off and

0:55.2

I pop in extra live streams.

0:57.4

This is going to be the best way to stay in the loop.

1:01.6

Let's get into this young Thug RICO trial. As I am recording this episode, it is

1:06.7

December 8th. I covered this on the podcast, the Emily show this week, but today during court, one of the jurors brought to the

1:15.1

court's attention that they had seen themselves on a live stream. This is the

1:19.4

second time issues with cameras and the jury have come up and the judge strongly admonished

1:24.4

the jury about staying off of social media because that's the only way this juror would have seen

1:29.9

themselves unless they're watching streams of the trial, which would be a tremendous issue.

1:35.6

This trial is going on in Georgia.

1:38.0

The original indictment charged over 55 crimes, including violations of the racketeering and

1:43.8

organized crime act RICO and charging over 27 defendants.
