I'll always let you know which is which, but this week we need to talk about all of the motions filed in the Donna Edelson case ahead of her going to trial in September.

There was a Friday ruling in the Karen Reed case, not a huge

surprise but an interesting 21-page order from the judge.

Alec Murdoch got some good news in his quest to get a new trial.

Tom Girardi's trial is coming to an end, but an unexpected twist from the judge,

and there is a $50 dollar lawsuit going on over that Ocean Gate

submarine that we were all hoping would be found in one piece and sadly was

not when it was seeking to explore the

titanic wreck. So lots to discuss. Let's get into the quick bets. I'm legal

In the Karen Reed case we knew that Judge

Canone was going to drop her order on a Friday and she sure did. I have to

wonder if she's taking off next week for Labor Day. I mean it seems like maybe that's what's going to happen but it was not a

surprise that she denied the motion to dismiss. I don't think there is a legal avenue for

Judge Canone to dismiss two of the counts in the

Karen Reed case even though the defense asked that those be dismissed based on

double jeopardy grounds saying that the jury really did a quick care and read even though those acquittals were not pronounced in open court, were not put on the verdict slips and were not indicated in any of the jury notes and Judge Canoni went through that

quite extensively in a 21-page ruling but didn't leave out room to take some

shots at the defense attorneys including Alan Jackson saying that you know the defense was not
