What is a weekend?

That is perhaps the most famous thing.

The Dowager Countess of Grantham played by the phenomenal Maggie Smith said in Downton Abbey.

What is a weekend?

Indeed, she didn't know for a very different reason.

She didn't know because she was so incredibly rich

and never had to work a day in her life

that there was no need for weekends every day,

sort of was a weekend for her.

We just don't have them anymore

because news breaks as rapidly and voluminously on Saturdays and Sundays as it does Monday through Friday.

Also, I've been noticing that much of the corruption of the Trump regime either is carried out or comes to light on what used to be known as weekends.

We have so much going on in that context that it's a little difficult to keep track of it.

So I want to take a look back at some of the older bits of grift and corruption that are

continuing to go on and some new things that we have to wrap our heads around.

Let's revisit that obscene, garish ballroom Donald's building, to the tune of $400 million.

He says, of course, that it's only being paid for with private money, including his own,

which, if it weren't so awful, would make me laugh because clearly he's not putting a dime of his own money into any of this.

This is simply an opportunity, yet another opportunity, for tech moguls and social media

CEOs to curry favor with Donald so he can build this $400 million monstrosity to his ego.

I want to read you something that Donald said before construction began because there was

some concern that the ballroom would interfere with the pre-existing East Wing.
