Megan Schuster, and we are here today to talk about some huge F1 news that Christian Horner has

been removed from his job as team principal and CEO of Red Bull racing.

There are a number of questions surrounding the moves, such as why Red Bull decided to make it now,

one impact it may have on Max Verstappen's decision to stay or leave the team,

how it will ultimately affect Christian Horner's legacy within Formula One,

and joining me to tackle all of that and more is Spanners.

Ding dong, Horner's gone.

I think what mustn't be missed is that A, no one knows anything.

The articles that went up were all placeholders.

So you could see everyone's desperate to break the story once it's been launched. And you have a, oh, Christian Horner's been sacked. And they say the facts from the team statement. And then they go, and Horner started with Jaguar in 18-diggity seven. And they just thought it was Waffle and ESPN, who was bang on. Like, you know, the likes of like Medland and Nate Saunders, if they say it, it's true, it's been confirmed. They had a two-paragraph placeholder article. And normally with these things, you know, you get the news and it's embargoed. And, you know, even if I get hold of it, I respect the embargoes because I want to be in the F1 Media family one day. Please let me come and play.

Nothing. I was getting nothing from my journalist friends because everyone's so bad with embargoes.

Like it will get out. And it's just whether or not people respect it. I think they were completely

blindsided by it. It sounds like Christian Horner was pretty blindsided by

it as well. The other thing to not underestimate, though, is how big a story this is. If you've

only come into F1 in the last few years, yeah, of course you know that Christian Horner is the team

principal at Red Bull, but he's been in the sport 20 years. There've been like a dozen or so, you know, titles.

I think there've been eight driver's titles in that time.

But not only that, he's done it a couple of times.

You know, there's been phases where Red Bull haven't been successful and then they've

rebuilt.
