0:00.0	It's clear that our first episode of 2026 discussing whether we are forgetting the First World War struck a chord with many of you, and I really appreciate all the comments that have come in.
0:23.0	It's also clear that many are working hard to tell the story of the Great War in all kinds of
0:29.7	different ways, and while it might not be forgotten as such, as I mentioned in the podcast,
0:35.8	there is a danger of drift, with the subject being so far in the podcast, there is a danger of drift.
0:38.1	With the subject being so far in the distant past, somehow people lose connection with it.
0:45.4	So I think it's beholden on us who care about the subject to ensure that it has a safe harbour and the means to grow.
0:55.6	And what's clear is how much you do care from the comments that I've received,
1:01.2	how much the subject of the Great War means to all of you who listen to this podcast
1:07.1	and how it covers a wide spectrum of people too. And that makes me very optimistic for the

1:22.1	think of a way of doing something with them. Not sure what that is as yet, but perhaps it'll be here on the podcast

1:52.3	the road to the Somme because it kind of builds a journey that we're going to take together over the course of this year as we move into the 110th anniversary of 1916.
2:04.1	And we look not just at the Somme, but at Verdun, some of the lesser-known battles at Sintelouin, Hill 62, and a few other places besides.
2:14.1	And when we get to the anniversary of the SOM,
