If you brought your Bible tonight, go to 2nd Peter, the 3rd chapter.

If you didn't bring a Bible, the ushers have extra Bibles.

Hold up your hand real high, and they'd be glad to let you use one of ours.

And everybody go to 2nd Peter, the 3rd chapter.

Well, we've taken a little extra time in front of the service tonight,

but I think it's time well spent.

I don't think it's a waste of time.

You know, where did the hour and a half or two-hour service come from?

Or the 15 or 20 or 30 minute sermon.

Did it originate in the Bible?

Is that how Jesus preached?

Is that how Paul preached?

Is that how they did it in the beginning days of the church?

Now, don't get concerned.

I'm not planning on going to midnight unless if the Lord were to move,

it'd be the greatest thing to happen tonight.

Because after all, what are we rushing off to do?

What are we rushing off from?

And what are we rushing to? The reason I know rushing to the reason i know that because the lord

asked me that one night i was in the service and it had gone a bit long and i was sitting there fidgeting

thank the lord this is a long time ago and uh i looked at my watch for the 30th time, you know.

And the Lord spoke to me.
