You're Dr Craig, I want to thank you first and foremost, I've been a follower of your work for a few years now, which has played do with time

to Christ. My question has to do with time dilation

0:26.8

and synchronized consciousness. It seems to me that when I talk to my

friends and family, our conscious experience is synchronized, or at least is near synchronization, to the point where it's unnoticeable.

0:40.0

I've recently been reading a little bit on time dilation and it seems to theoretically imply that our conscious experience can become very unsynchronized.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the movie Interstellar, but there's a scene where the main character goes to Miller's Planet, near a black hole which causes it to have gravity so strong that every hour experienced on Miller's planet is equal to seven years on Earth.

Apparently Kip Thorne was one of the main producers and helped the movie remain faithful to

modern physics.

1:13.0

Let's suppose that this actually happens.

1:16.0

If Fred is on Miller's planet for one hour and travels back to Earth,

1:20.0

Fred would presumably be seven years ahead of everyone else.

1:25.0

It would seemingly follow that Fred's conscious experience is unsynchronized with

1:29.2

everybody's on Earth.

1:31.2

I suppose then, the following questions are necessary.

1:35.0

One, is there reason to believe that our conscious experience is synchronized?

1:40.0

A, if so, would it be metaphysically impossible to have unsynchronized consciousness?

1:47.0

Why?

1:49.0

Two, is there reason to reject the theoretical possibility of a Miller's planet scenario?

1:55.5

Other than being able to land on the planet itself?

1:59.2

I'm not sure if you'll have the time to answer this question, but it's worth a shot. Thank you.

2:05.4

Uriah from Canada. Thank you Uriah for your question. This is a wild and

2:12.3

fascinating question that deserves to be taken very seriously.
