1:12.0 | So the film festival will premiere in person on the 20th of November or actually maybe it already will have this is airing on the 22nd. So it would have started a couple days ago. |
1:23.0 | Right. So the in person event was on the 20th and that was at the Marva Jones Theater in Dallas and then the streaming service, which is the same thing is the in person event. It's all the films. |
1:35.0 | It's going on from the 21st all the way to the 27th. So if you're listening to this on the 22nd, you still got a few days. So no, no rush, but do get online as soon as you can. |
1:49.0 | There's obviously no cap on tickets. So you can watch it from anywhere in the world. Part of the inception of the film festival was so that you didn't have to be in one specific location because something that happened to me during the pandemic as I found myself really utilizing social media as a way to connect way more than I had in the past. |
2:11.0 | And even if I looked back at the evidence of all the time that I spent online prior to the pandemic, I may disprove myself, but I will say that I can with, you know, out of shadow of the doubt, it's helped bring me to a better relationship with social media. |
2:28.0 | And I feel like all of my endeavors online have been a lot more successful just because I've been putting more effort into it and trying to be more vulnerable myself. And I decided that I wanted to put forth all of that energy into an event that meant a lot to me. And so upon introspection with a fellow film producer and creator Ben Ward. |
2:57.0 | And actually his wife and producing partner Rindley Singleton, they both produce movies with Stranger Morning's production. |
3:05.0 | We are going to produce a film together and we have worked together in the past. He wanted to do something along the lines of films that don't have to go through the immense channel of expression before it gets to final product. |
3:23.0 | So something that is closer to the original artist's interests, dream as Frederica Fellini would say, closes to the dream. |
3:34.0 | And that's where queer to queer came from. I basically came up with the extra part of making it more about queer expression, trying to find films that were outside the box that showed a wide range of voices. |
3:50.0 | And then it kind of culminated with this desire to not just have something in person, but also be able to connect the world. And that's that's cute. |
