for their heir.

Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality?

First Corinthians 6.9.

Those are three of a few passages from the Bible that Christians have used for generations

to decide what to do about the existence of people who don't identify straighter cisgender.

Sometimes these passages are used as weapons of mass destruction by those in power.

Often they are used as an over-spiritualized scapegoat for existing homophobia.

In 2018, this particular sort of the spirit is getting pretty limp, but this is it.

All the pain within the church, all the shame, severed relationships, broken families,

failed marriages, reparative therapy, clinics, and camps, systematic and cultural homophobia,

and even suicide rates for LGBTQ plus youth.
