Oh, this was the happiest day of my life.

That's a line in the diary of Queen Victoria, dated February 10th, 1840.

That night she recorded in detail the events of that most happy day, the day of her wedding

to Prince Albert.

It wouldn't be an overstatement to call it the wedding of the century.

It's remembered as one of the most defining events of the Victorian era.

Given that Queen Victoria and Albert would also go on to have nine children, we can assume

correctly that Victoria was also thrilled not just about the wedding itself, but the events

of the wedding night.
