Summary

Going on a Royal Caribbean cruise is always exciting but this week I get to preview my upcoming cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s brand new Quantum of the Seas.

This pre-inaugural 2-night event is a glimpse at everything this new ship has to offer and it’s my opportunity to get a first-hand look at the ship and report back to all of you all of the experiences onboard. Let’s preview what my plans are for this cruise and discuss the changes that Quantum of the Seas brings.

Welcome to the Royal Caribbean blog podcast, a weekly look into the world of Royal Caribbean cruising.

0:22.1

I'm your host Matt Hodgeberg, and this is episode number 85.

0:25.1

I'm really excited for this week's podcast episode because at the end of this week, I'll

0:29.0

be taking my very next Royal Caribbean cruise vacation on the brand new Quantum of the Seas.

0:33.9

I want to take you with me on this cruise, well, virtually anyway, and preview my cruise on

0:38.2

the Caribbean itinerary that I'm going on. We'll look at why I book this cruise, take a closer

0:43.4

look at Quantum of the Seas, the ports are visiting, and review some of the plans we have for this

1:20.4

And of course, this isn't just a new ship.

1:22.3

This is a new class of ships.

1:23.8

So it kind of all came together and made perfect sense. Now, Royal Caribbean offered a lot of different itineraries for Quantum at first, and honestly,

1:30.4

not a lot of them appealed to me.

1:32.0

There were some that stood out, but a lot of them were to places that, you know, that didn't

1:36.6

excite me necessarily.

1:37.9

And I love Royal Caribbean ships, but where we go for me is a really important factor, and

1:42.9

cruises to places like the Bahamas or Port Canaveral were not of great interest to me.

1:48.6

Now, I also only had a week of vacation time to take for this particular cruise, so there were sailing that went for, you know, 10, 12 nights, but, you know, those weren't really feasible for what I was looking for. But the itinerary that really stuck out for me was an eight-night sailing, left on a Saturday

2:02.4

and came back on a Sunday, which I thought was just perfect.
