Hello everyone and welcome to Talk Nurdy. Today is Monday, August 30th, 2021 and I'm the host of the show,

Kara Santa Maria and I want to first and foremost apologize for not having a new

episode for you last week I have worked very hard over the past what is it now

seven years to bring you a brand new show every single week.

I take two weeks off over the holidays in like late December,

early January, but that's it.

Otherwise I do 50 shows a year.

This is the first time in a really long time that I've had to just

skip a week and part of it is because I'm working on my dissertation right now. I'm seeing

patients as part of my practicum training for my PhD. I'm also doing a live daily

television show and I work on the Skeptics Guide to the Universe and sometimes also

on God awful movies.

And yeah, so we have this production calendar

and it's smooth sailing, but every so often,

if there has to be a change to the scheduling,

we work really hard.

My God, I want to give a massive shout out to Noel

Dilworth my assistant because she's incredible but every so often we just

can't accommodate and instead of literally killing myself trying to make it work, I decided to take a mental health week.

Now that's not to say that I didn't do all those other things last week, but I didn't also, you know,

just brutalize myself by trying to fit in a podcast that wasn't slated anyway

and we couldn't get we couldn't get our guests to shift around their schedules.
