If you all have your bibles, I want you to go to the book of Luke chapter number nine.

We are in a series called Easy Money. Somebody say Easy Money. Say it again a little bit louder. Say Easy Money.

And we have gone through what has been three weeks. This is now the fourth week where we are talking about what it is for God to bless you as you steward what he has given you and become a generous person.

I love the baby. Still saying it.

And so I want to read a familiar passage of scripture. Many of you all will know it. If you don't know, it's one of the iconic moments in Jesus' earthly ministry.

There are in many of the gospels and I want to take an extrapolate from the book of Luke. The gospel according to St. Luke chapter number nine.

Starting at the 10th verse, here is what it says. Luke chapter number nine, starting at the 10th verse.

Do we have those verses? Y'all have it on Y'all's there it is. Yes, amen.

When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Let me give you this context for that just for a minute. God through Jesus had commissioned the apostles to go out two by two and literally cast out demons and heal all those that were sick.

And they did that and they are now coming back. Then he slipped quietly away with them toward the town of Bethesda.

But the crowds found out where he was going and they followed him. He welcomed them and taught them about the kingdom of God and he healed those who were sick.

Late in the afternoon, the 12 disciples came to him and said, send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms so they can find food and lodging for the night.

There is nothing to eat here in this remote place. Can you imagine the disciples coming up to Jesus telling him when to stop teaching?

Like, hey, Lord, that's really, really good. I'm going to need you to stop though. Because I got to be hungry right now. I think low key. They were hungry.

It seems like they were looking out for everybody else, but they was like, you know what, bro, we hungry. But Jesus said, you feed them.

But we only have five loaves of bread and two fish. They answered, or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?

For there were about 5,000 men there. Jesus replied, tell them to sit down in groups of about 50 each.

Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven and blessed them, then breaking them. I think we skipped a verse.

16. There we go. We're going to get it, yo. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven and blessed them.

Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people.
