| 0:22.7 | different? All right. Let's get started. Hey guys, welcome back to another Q&A with S&J. Today's question |
| 0:30.9 | is from Teddy Lynn Plumley. I'm sorry, Teddy Lynn. Let's say Plumley. Yeah, sorry, Teddy Lynn. I know that we always mispronounced y' names. And I know what that's like because when I was growing up, my name was Jocelyn Haravi. So I feel your pain. H-Y-R-A-V-Y. The happiest part of our wedding was Jocelyn only having to write Sam's for the rest of her life. Yeah, but now people write like S-A-M-M-S, so. Right, so they still spell it wrong, whatever. Yeah, it's a little easier, though. All right, Teddy Lent says, is there an actual strategy to using Pinterest, or do you just pin your own post or content and hope they spread like wildfire? I hope they all spread like wildfire because that'd be good. Yeah, that'd be pretty nice, but it doesn't |
| 1:11.7 | exactly work that way. And this is a question that we actually get a lot. And the reason why is because |
| 1:16.6 | I do mention Pinterest a lot in some of the content that we put out. And the reason why is because |
| 1:21.7 | Pinterest has been really big for me in my business, especially in the elementary library and |
| 1:26.4 | business. And the reason for that is |
| 1:28.3 | because my audience is mostly women. Now, Pinterest is not just for women. There are a lot of men on it, |
| 1:33.5 | and all of the Pinterest folks out there will very quickly correct you when you say that it's for women. |
| 1:38.9 | But the fact of the matter is that mostly women do use Pinterest. And what's funny is, though, |
| 1:44.1 | like I actually |
| 1:44.9 | pinned a lot of things about my football stuff when I first started out. And I didn't really think about it. I just was kind of trying to be everywhere kind of deal. I was just, you know, I was making sure it was kind of in the list of things to do whenever I posted something, you know, tweet it, Facebook it, pin it, whatever. And I actually have made sales because women have seen my stuff and have told |
| 2:03.1 | their husbands about it. And I know that for sure because I've received emails from those people |
| 2:07.5 | that were like, wow, my wife saw your playbook on Pinterest and she told me about it. Even if you don't |
| 2:13.0 | think you have a huge audience that's out there using Pinterest or maybe you have a male- audience, don't negate the fact that, you know, putting stuff on Pinterest can get |
| 2:23.1 | your message right in front of the people that need to see it. |
| 2:26.0 | All right. And when we were talking about this topic, we actually came up with a lot of |
| 2:30.5 | different ideas that we could talk about. So I think we're actually going to make this into |
| 2:33.7 | a longer podcast. So be on the lookout for that. But really quick, we're going to give you |
... |
