This week, John and I wanted to bring you audio from a conversation John had with

Alexander DeSanctus a couple of weeks ago at one of our Lighthouse Voices series events.

These are events that we've been doing alongside Focus on the Family at their new Focus on

the Family bookstore in Holland, Michigan.

This conversation with Alexander DeSanctus was all about abortion and the pro-life movement in the wake of the Dobbs decision.

So Alexander is one of the nation's strongest pro-life voices.

She graduated from Notre Dame, but right now she is a fellow at the Ethics and Public

Policy Center, alongside Dr. Ryan Anderson, who is the president of the EPPC. And the two of them together

a couple of months ago released a new book called Tearing Us Apart, How Abortion Harms Everything and

Solves Nothing. It's an incredibly important and prescient book. In this

conversation, we're going to play for you now. John and Alexandra talk about some of the implications

of the book, especially in the wake of the Dobbs decision, and they also answer questions from the

audience that was there at this Lighthouse Voices event. One more note before we get into the

conversation. At one point, they do start talking about something called Proposition 3. So you'll

have to remember at this point, they were in Michigan having this conversation. Proposition 3

is a big deal in Michigan right now. It's going to the ballot in a couple of weeks. It is a constitutional

amendment. So this would amend the state constitution of Michigan essentially to legalize

elective abortion for any and every reason with almost no restrictions. No restrictions on age or

time of pregnancy. It's a really radical amendment. And so you'll hear John at one point

ask Alexandra a question about Prop 3, and they have a really interesting discussion about it.
