We all love mob movies, Scarface, The Godfather. The list goes on and on. But there's one movie that

speaks to me more than all the others, Donnie Brasco. It starred Johnny Depp as an FBI agent who went

deep undercover in the New York Mafia.

And unlike Scarface or The Godfather, it's actually based on a true story.

And you know what they say?

Truth is stranger than fiction.

We're going to go off the page and talk to the real life Donnie Brasco.

This next question is, it's, okay, it's intriguing to me. Was there anything you enjoyed

about working with the mafia? For example, you're treated like royalty. Yeah, I mean,

if there's one good thing about it, is that when, you know, when individuals know you're

associated with a particular family, you are treated. You know, you walk into a restaurant. They

know who you are. You get the best table, you get the best service,

you know, you don't have to order off the menu, you just tell them what you want,

and then, you know, and a chef in the back cooks it up for you.

You walk into a clothing store that, you know, that they know who you are.

You get a good discount, or a lot of times, you know, you might get a couple shirts for nothing

that, you know, they just give them to you. The perks. There's a lot of perks, you know, but,

you know, it's, who wants, who wants the perks? Because you wake up every day, two, two thoughts

in your mind. Do I go to jail today? Do I get whacked today? So to me, the perks don't

even out. No, no, not at all. Would you have done anything different with your deep cover operation?
