and evoked in many people's minds when you say two simple words, the pyramids. They think of a handful

of ancient buildings in the desert, shrouded in mystery, and steeped in legend.

And though there are literally thousands of ancient pyramids all across the world,

when you say the pyramids, to almost anyone, they think of the same place the Giza pyramid complex

The Giza pyramid complex stands on the Giza Plateau on the outskirts of Cairo Egypt.

The complex of ancient monuments is located some five miles inland from the Nile

River as it sits today. The complex contains three large pyramids, the most famous of which,

the Great Pyramid, is possibly the largest building ever erected on our planet and the last

member of the ancient Seven Wonders of the world. There's also the Kufu ship, the

relic of a boat built supposedly transport Pharaoh-Kufu to the afterlife.

And finally, there's the Sphinx, a gigantic part lion, part human statue that predates the pyramids

and could offer an even deeper mystery than the surrounding mega structures in both origin and purpose.

While the Giza Pyramid Complex reveals much about the civilization of ancient Egypt, a look beneath

the surface leaves many with more questions than answers.

What was their true purpose?

Who actually built them?

Could they have been thousands of years old when the Egyptians found them?

And of course, how are the aliens involved?
