0:27.8	after-hours episodes, and today I'm joined by Dr. Stephen Beebe, whom Matt and I met at the
0:34.0	conference in North Carolina at the end of last year. He's just released a new book entitled C.S. Lewis and The Craft of Communication.
0:42.7	So to give a little bit of background, Dr. Stephen Beebe is Regents and University Distinguished
0:47.7	Professor of Communication Studies.
0:49.9	He served as chair of the Department of Communication Studies for 28 years and Associate Dean of the
0:54.7	College of Fine Arts and Communication for 25 years. Dr. Beebe has been a visiting scholar at both
1:00.4	Oxford and Cambridge University. He teaches courses that focus on communication skill development.
1:06.0	He also teaches a course, both at Texas State and Oxford University, titled C.S. Lewis, Chronicles of
1:12.7	a Master Communicator. And it's inspired by manuscript he discovered that was the partial opening
1:18.7	chapter of a book that was to be co-authored between J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis called
1:24.5	Language and Human Nature. Dr. Beebe, welcome to Pites with Jack.
