0:52.9	Well, you are really expert in Russia, but a number of years ago, basically, truly by accident,
1:00.9	my husband and I decided to move to Moscow to be the Moscow Bureau to the Washington Post,
1:06.9	and it happened to coincide with Vladimir Putin's rise to power and his first term as president.
1:13.9	So, we were there, actually, when all the quote-unquote Russia experts thought that Russia was going to be really boring again.
1:20.9	In fact, as we made the rounds in people, they all told us, well, we're so sorry for you, because that story is really over.
1:26.9	And, you know, basically, Russia has emerged from the tumultuous 1990s, and it's just going to be a normal country.
1:32.9	And they were wrong.
