Summary

Jen Psaki explains why what's happening in Vladimir Putin’s Russia is a preview of what Trump’s America would look like in a second term. House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi joins to reflect on the death of Putin-critic Alexei Navalny and why passing a Ukraine aid bill is crucial to protecting democracy across the world. Next, Jen is joined by attorney Shawn Reynolds to break down Trump’s precarious financial situation as the clock ticks for him on the half-a-billion dollars he owes in civil penalties. Reynolds also reacts to Trump’s recent comments regarding her client E. Jean Carroll as he continues to reference her at his rallies. Jen explains how Trump’s ongoing attacks on mail-in voting – kneecapping the GOP’s early vote efforts – is indicative of a larger problem within the Republican party. Finally, Joy Reid joins the show to chat with Jen about her new book "Medgar and Myrlie” and the lessons in activism that apply today.

And how are they watching all of this? But I do want to start tonight back in 2021 with a documentary that was

released by Alexi Navalny in Russia that made Vladimir Putin frankly look pretty bad. This film

showed aerial footage captured by a drone of a $1.3 billion palace that Navalny alleges

was built for Putin.

1:12.6

He dubbed it Putin's palace, fit for a diabolical king, equipped with a casino, billiard room,

1:19.6

and a room just for electric toy cars. It's very weird.

The documentary also went further in outlining the filthy extravagance of Putin's lifestyle,

1:28.3

including multiple vineyards he owned and some of his quirky, let's call them, expensive tastes.

Like this little detail that I just love, and I bet you will too,

a receipt for a toilet paper holder purchased for more than 1,000 euros. I mean, I can't even imagine what that toilet paper holder would look like.

I'm not going to try.

But the entire purpose of this film was to expose Putin for what he is.

1:54.0

Well, we all know he is.
