Happy Monday. Welcome to another episode of the Chuck Toddcast. It is a big day in the future of Ukraine.

0:10.9

Pure and simple. And that is going to be the lion's share of what we talk about here to start the podcast.

0:17.1

My guest today, those, has nothing to do with Ukraine. In case you're wondering, it's Colin Cowhart. He and I actually work with some of the same people. So we're sort of, how do you put it? We're not really employees of the same entities, but we're sort of, it's like in-law partners is probably the way, the way to put it.

0:40.1

We have some of the same business partners in common these days with what we're doing

0:45.0

in the independent side of things.

0:47.3

And we've had a great conversation.

0:50.2

You know, it is a little bit, both of us, obviously, in some ways, the world of politics and sports sort of share some DNA, at least in the media sense of thing and the media side of thing.

1:04.2

So I think the part of the conversation, even if you're not a sports fan, I think understanding sort of where the world of sports media is going matters

1:11.8

a lot to understand where the information ecosystem is headed, where people will get their

1:17.6

information, where our culture is heading. All of it is blurred together more than ever. So I don't

1:22.7

think, even if, like I said, even if you're not a sports fan, I think you're going to find this

1:26.0

conversation quite enlightening. Colin is not just a sports guy, even if you're not a sports fan, I think you're going to find this conversation quite enlightening.

1:29.3

Colin is not just a sports guy, even though, yes, that's what he does professionally.

1:35.0

But he is, he certainly has his own set of interest.

1:39.4

And I think by the end of the conversation, the likely thing you'll be doing is running to Amazon or Apple,

1:45.5

wherever you buy your books, to follow up on books that Colin and I throw at each other

1:50.3

and then some. I will have a little bit of a sports update on the other side of the podcast.

1:57.4

A couple of things this weekend that I think are worth noting and touching on,

2:02.3

if you will. But before we begin, I think, like I said, like I said at the start,

2:07.2

today is a huge day in the future of, frankly, European security, the future of Ukraine, right?

2:13.2

The Alaska Summit in Anchorage, well, look, it could have been worse. That's about the best you could put it.

2:20.4

It really wasn't much of a summit. But it certainly was revealing. Once again, it was not Donald Trump playing tough guy. It was Vladimir Putin that sort of owned the show. And it made the summit quite revealing. Because if there is one large takeaway, it's this. Donald Trump is still enamored with Vladimir Putin. After everything Putin has done, after all the slaughtering he's done in Ukraine. And it tells you more about Trump's worldview, really, than anything else that came out of Anchorage.
