President Vladimir Putin and the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un are regarded by much of the world as pariahs,

but today they were the center of global attention.

Mr. Putin was in Pyongyang his first visit there in more than two decades and Mr Kim pulled out all the stops with a red carpet welcome big hugs, crowds and a grand military parade. They then spent two hours in discussions which resulted in the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership

treaty which according to Russian media includes a mutual defense clause.

During the talks Mr Kim said he fully supported Russia and its invasion of Ukraine.

The situation continues to be complex and changing all the time.

to strengthen strategic communication with the Russian leadership and Russia, even in the complex

global geopolitical situation, and continue to unconditionally

support all of Russia's policies.
