I am among my friends, they call me the flashlight guy because I've always got one or two flashlights in my pockets. And who better to talk to us about that? And also about a favorite subject of mine, which is buying quality. Andrew Wright from Surefire joins us right now. Andrew, I appreciate you pulling over on the side of the road so we could knock this thing out. How you doing, partner? I'm doing well. Thank you, Tom, for having me. You bet. Okay, so let's back up. There may be people, I can't believe it, but there may be people who don't know the name, Surefire.

Give us the quick synopsis of the company.

That's a big synopsis. But the high and the low is we've been manufacturing illumination tools like flashlights and weapon lights, now suppressors and hearing protection for over 45 years.

And we manufacture everything in-house here in the USA, and we build really high-quality products. We don't really build to a price standpoint. We build to a quality point. All right, so you say we're going to make it the best it can be, and then we'll figure out what we have to charge at that point. That's correct, yeah. All right. And you and I were talking before we got on here and i said you know

people are trying to stretch their dollars right now and you know the economy may be a little

flat and people are and i said you know my concern is that people will make the wrong decision

go the wrong way at least in my viewpoint which which is to buy cheap, which you end up

having to buy two, three or four times. And also when you buy cheap on, well, like defensive

products, self-defense products, things that can save your life, they could fail at the wrong time.

And that's like the worst kind of cheap possible. What do you think?

I agree 100%. Yeah, there's places to skimp and to save money,

but something that's a potentially life-saving item is probably not where you want to do it.

And there's no doubt the old adage of buy cheap, buy twice, definitely holds true with anything

technological. So buying a quality product that you can have for your entire life

and probably pass down to your kids, and it's definitely going to be an investment that's worthwhile.

You know, there's also something else, and we don't talk about this very much,

and that's a pride of ownership of I have something that I know is really well made,
