Rabbi Amichai Lau Lavi. Rabbi Amichai, as he's known to a lot of people, is a co-founding spiritual leader of what's called the Lab Shul community in New York City.

It's a synagogue. It's a spiritual community. It's a performance base. It's open to everybody. He also runs through at the Ritual Theater Company called Stora Telling, Incorporated.

He was born in Israel and is the 39th generation of rabbis in his family and the first one to be openly queer. And if you want to know more about him, he is the star of this incredible, incredible documentary called Sabbath Queen, which I saw recently, which was made by Sandy Dubowski, which is touring the country. And in it,

you hear about his childhood, his conflict with his brother, who's still in the rabbinic family in

Israel. And also you learn about the fullness of him, including his drag persona, the Rebitten

Hadassah Gross. Rabbi Amichai, welcome to the show.
