Summary

(00:00-23:07) – Query & Company opens on a Hump Day Wednesday with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison discussing last night college football rankings. Eddie tries to explain to Jake which teams could be bid stealers this weekend in conference championship games. Jake also comments on national reporters being days behind the reporting on Sauce Gardner NOT being up for consideration for injured reserve.

(23:07-39:51) – IndyCar driver and avid Ohio State fan, Graham Rahal, joins the show to share his thoughts on Saturday’s Big Ten Championship game between his Buckeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers. He also gives his thoughts on last night College Football Rankings, highlights where the Ohio State is weakest, and gives a lot of credit to Curt Cignetti for how quickly he has turned the program around. Finally, Graham discusses what he’s been up to this offseason, the recent IndyCar meetings that are going on, and the addition of Mick Schumacher.

(39:51-45:29) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake discussing what he saw from Purdue last night in their first conference win of the season over Rutgers. He explains how Matt Painter’s bunch is the deepest college basketball team in the country.

(45:29-1:07:39) – Sam King from the Lafayette Journal & Courier joins Jake Query on today’s show to continue the Purdue conversation. They start their chat by highlighting some of the football players that the Boilermakers landed today on national signing day and then shifts to basketball by assessing if Matt Painter’s team has the ability to change their offensive identity from game to game or if they are going to have a specific game plan every night that becomes unstoppable.

(1:07:39-1:20:55) – Jake and Eddie discuss the Colts decision to part ways with Michael Badgley and sign Blake Grupe instead of Justin Tucker. Would signing Tucker be too much of a distraction?

(1:20:55-1:25:28) – The second hour of the show concludes with Jake Query responding to some texts that he’s received on the text line.

(1:25:28-1:46:45) – Does the winner of Saturday’s Big Ten Championship Game also become the Heisman Trophy winner? Jake and Eddie discuss that and try to figure out how Diego Pavia goes from not being in discussion a week ago to having the second-best odds to win the award over Jeremiyah Love and Julian Sayin.

(1:46:45-2:02:41) – Joel Erickson from the IndyStar makes his weekly Wednesday visit on Query & Company to share his observations from the first Colts practice of the week. His conversation with Jake starts by discussing the team signing Blake Grupe over Justin Tucker, tries his best to pinpoint when Daniel Jones fractured his fibula, assess if the team is starting to pucker up a little bit with the recent struggles, and notes a couple of things that Jacksonville does well that they could exploit on Sunday.

(2:02:41-2:07:52) – Today’s show closes out with Jake asking Eddie and JMV’s producer, James, about the relationship between the Riddler and Joker and Batman. Plus, JMV joins the show to preview what he’s got going on today!

Eddie Garrison, I'm going to admit to you something that thoroughly confuses me.

I'm sure he confuses a lot of people, Jake.

By a lot of people, I mean a lot of people.

Okay, this is what thoroughly confuses me I don't

I don't get this and again yesterday I confess to the fact that my linear thinking

be more simplistic.

Okay.

It's a simplistic Wednesday.

Everything needs to be simplified.

It drives me crazy.

I think it's great that Tony Romo, for example, when he's doing NFL analysis, can look at a play and predict what's going to happen or what they're going to try to do based on the formation. That's cool. And when he simply says, right here, they should try to throw the ball because look at this left side and he circles it.

1:11.0

You know, okay, I can understand that.

1:13.7

It drives me crazy when analysts of a particular sport

begin speaking in the vernacular that is relative only to people that are diehards of that particular sport.

1:27.9

Because the idea in a broadcast, the goal in an analysis of an NFL game or an NBA game

or a Major League Baseball game is to provide information that makes it relatable to the transcendent audience.
