My name is Eric Eggers, and I'm in for Peter Schweitzer, who is out on a number of very important missions, helping to protect and defend the country.

And we have a very

important and exciting conversation to have today on essentially what is the direction of this

country. Now, I've been working here at the Government Accountability Institute for 11 years,

and I've been working with Peter Schweitzer for that entire time. And I remember a decade ago

when we were working on a book called

extortion, which was meant to expose the perverse incentive structure for members of Congress

in Washington, D.C., and the ways in which they leveraged and abused their positions of authority

to punish private businesses. We were having a conversation with a new member of Congress.
