Now on to our readings. Pastor Mike Goulai with you this evening. It's just going to be me

tonight. We're going to have some discussion, and I'll be putting up some of your comments,

maybe even some questions as we move forward, because this is a very critical chapter,

2 Samuel 23, the last words of David. Let me preface by saying, out of all of the Psalms,

there's a significant amount of the Psalms that David wrote,

specifically about the suffering side,

the sacrificial side of the Messiah.

In rabbidical teachings,

the emphasis is on the kingly messianic role where the Messiah comes to conquer the nations, destroy Israel's enemies, and erect his kingdom for a golden era,

which we would, of course course call the millennium.

And of course that's absolutely true, and I look forward to that day, and I'm sure you do as well.

However, did you know that the Old Testament, particularly in the Psalms, which David wrote, many of them, are Messianic referring to the first coming of messiah not just the second but the first

coming psalms like chapter 22 okay and many others which we will get into so let's pray we'll get

into this we're going to pause after this chapter. We'll pray.
