PTSD for Police After a Hurricane. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina’s devastation, many of the unsung heroes who rushed into chaos were first responders, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, putting their lives on the line to save others. One of them was Joseph Patrick Fair, a now retired Michigan, based police officer and firefighter.
