Best of luck, everyone. Hi everybody. Welcome to the Psychedelics Today podcast with David Drepkin. Today talking with Omar Thomas, the founder of the Diaspora Psychedelic Society in Jamaica. This has been a long time coming. It's not always

easy to get Wi-Fi where he lives up in the hills in Jamaica, but beautiful talk that we had.

So we speak about his work with mushrooms, with healing, running retreats in Mexico and in Jamaica.

He uses this concept of being a psychedelic father

and of very powerful, authentic, vulnerable conversations, communications with family

and how that can actually extrapolate into community, particularly the conversations they're

having in Jamaica around cannabis, around psychedelics and government policies and laws to attract the right kind of money and to build jobs in the island itself for local people and to maintain ownership of psychedelic ecosystems for locals themselves.

And it kind of goes into the conversation of organic farming and soil regeneration,

which is something that Omar is also really involved with over there.

He talks about psilocybin as potentially being used with prisoners as rehabilitation in Jamaica

and using Jamaica as a health and wellness

location. We end the show talking about his work with death, both his experiences as a young
