Hello, everybody, welcome back to Psychedelics today. This is your host, Kyle Buller. Today on the show, I am joined by Dr. Hassan Teta. Dr. Teta is an associate

professor of surgery at the Uniform Services University of Health Sciences, adjunct faculty at

Howard University College of Medicine. And currently, Dr. Teta is a thoracic surgeon or staff surgeon

for MedStar Health and WRNMC.

And most recently served as a command surgeon for the National Defense University.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Teta received his bachelor's from State University

of New York, SUNY at Plattsburgh, his MD at SUNY downstate medical center,

his MPA from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, MBA from Johns Hopkins University,

Carey Business School, an MS in National Security Strategy with a concentration in artificial

intelligence from the National War College.

He completed his thoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Minnesota, an advanced cardiac

surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Brigham, and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Teta is a certified professional in healthcare information and management,

BOR certified in thoradic surgery, general surgery, clinical informatics, and healthcare management

and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and fellow of the American College of

Healthcare Executives.

Very well established and accomplished, obviously, from his bio there.

And he is also the author of The Art of Human Care, which is the book that we get into today on the show.

And this is a little bit of a different interview.

His PR person originally reached out and let us know about Dr. Teta's work and mentioned that he experienced a near-death experience,
