Summary

After years of being a bit confused about the topic of women in ministry, I set out to spend months researching the topic in great detail to produce this exhaustive teaching series on the topic. In today's teaching we will cover several topics that, to be honest, I didn't really think much about as a complementarian. These egalitarian arguments really do challenge some complementarians ideas in a good way. Though I can't agree with them all the way through. 1) Was Jesus training women to be rabbis/teachers?2) Does the fact that women were persecuted imply that they were in leadership?3) What about the egalitarian argument that men and women both can have the gifts of teaching or leadership? If women are gifted in those areas, can't they express those gifts in the biblical role of elder?4) The Bible clearly indicates that all believers are priests. Does this mean that women, who are also priests in Christ, can be elders? And does this challenge the idea that a man is the priest of his home?5) If women in the NT times freely prophesied at church gatherings, to mixed sex audiences, why can't they teach in that same context? Doesn't prophecy involve an element of teaching? CLICK HERE for the playlist of ALL the videos in this series (more will be added as I make them). this topic for years, like years.

0:26.7

What would some of you send me questions?

0:29.3

And my reply was something like, hey, you know, look the scriptures and honor your conscience

0:33.2

before God as to what you might do in ministry.

0:36.8

And that's not a great answer for a leader to give, but I didn't know what my right answer

0:41.4

was.

0:42.4

And here's the reason, one of the reasons.

0:43.4

I was like, what if I haven't heard really good arguments for egalitarian views being

0:47.2

raised more in a complementary environment?

0:49.8

Like I just haven't been exposed to them.

0:51.2

What if there's scriptures I've overlooked that really weigh down on this topic?

0:55.4

They bear down on the issue of women in ministry, but I haven't even looked at these passages

0:59.1

in that light.

1:00.1

Like, I didn't think about it because nobody in my circles thinking about that.

1:03.9

And this was a fear of mine.

1:05.6

So after months of research, I could say, like, yeah, there was lots of arguments I'd never
